Sunday, April 12 / 1 - 3 pm / Hilles Gallery

Join us in the Hilles Gallery for Passages, a powerful exhibition by Susan Clinard and Fethi Meghelli, on view through April 18. This deeply reflective show explores themes of displacement, memory, and resilience through the lens of two artists whose lives and practices have been shaped across cultures and continents.

Don’t miss a special moderated Artist Talk on Sunday, April 12 from 1–3 pm, offering a rare opportunity to hear directly from both artists about the nearly two-decade journey that led to this meaningful collaboration. Together, they will reflect on their individual practices, the evolution of their shared dialogue, and the process of bringing Passages to life.

Set Up Show 1 - 2 pm / View the Show 2- 3  pm / Eat the Show 3 - 4pm

Join us for one of Creative Arts Workshop’s most imaginative and delicious traditions: the annual Edible Book Tea, organized by Book Arts Department Head Paulette Rosen. Part of the international Edible Book Festival, this whimsical event invites participants to transform books, characters, and literary themes into edible creations—often with delightfully “punny” results.

Whether sweet or savory, these edible works of art are displayed, admired, and then enjoyed together over tea. You don’t need to bring a dish to attend—just a love of creativity, food, and community. All are welcome to this free and festive celebration of the culinary and literary arts.

Color Local, a new art gallery, is opening in
New Haven with a solo exhibition by Jerry Montoya

Where: Color Local Exhibition Space

When: March 20-April 24, 2026

Location: 315 Peck St., Building 3, 1st Floor, Studio D (Entrance is through the street level door on Peck St.)

Admission: Free and open to the public.

Hours: Tues, Wed, Thurs, 12-4 and by appointment.

Jenny Krauss is proud to announce the opening of an exhibition space at Erector Square, the sprawling complex that houses artist’s studios. The gallery will inaugurate the space with “Everyday Notes,” an exhibition of drawings by Jerry Montoya. The opening reception will be held from 6-8pm on March 20th and the show will run through April 24th.

“Jerry Montoya and his work perfectly embody the vision I have for this space,” said Jenny Krauss, Founder and Director of Color Local. Jerry is a talented portraitist who doesn’t let a day go by without finishing a drawing of himself or a family member. Using graphite pencils and an eraser, he draws on 3”x3” Post-it notes. He’s been doing this for years and has amassed hundreds of images, 287 of which will cover the gallery’s walls.

About Color Local:

Located where Fair Haven meets East Rock, Color Local is a passion project for Jenny Krauss. Following the sale of her textile company this past January, Krauss decided to repurpose her former workspace to create a gallery. By hosting rotating exhibitions and events, the gallery will serve as a creative hub for the community.

About Jerry Montoya:

As the child of Colombian immigrants and one of seven siblings, Jerry grew up facing economic hardship in Stamford, CT. From a young age, his talent was recognized by his peers and teachers, eventually earning him a scholarship to the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. There, he received a traditional education in figurative drawing and painting. While navigating the professional art world, Jerry has held various positions and currently serves as a substitute teacher in the Connecticut public school system.
