Celebrating 43 years of fine contemporary crafts, Creative Arts Workshop is holding its annual Celebration of American Crafts from October 29 through December 24. The sale features a spectacular array of fine ceramics, decorative and wearable fiber, wood furnishings, blown glass, hand crafted jewelry, whimsical toys, and so much more by over 300 artists from across the country.
Whether you're starting your holiday shopping or adding to your personal collection, the Celebration has items to fit every style and budget. All purchases from the Celebration directly support the artists and CAW's community programming, including community outreach programs and scholarships.

Rugs of Remembrance:Bosnian Weaving in Hartford Nov. 3, 2011 | 5-7PM
Bosnian weavers living in Hartford will display their handwoven carpets in an exhibit highlighting their exquisite skills and their work in ICR's Sewing Circle Project. A special memorial quilt from Bosnia will also be on view, loaned by the social justice organization Advocacy Net. The opening event will include weaving demonstrations as well as Bosnian music and food. |

City-Wide Open Studios at the Alternative Space Saturday and Sunday, October 29 and 30, noon-5pm
Think you’ve seen it all? Join us for the FINAL weekend of City-Wide Open Studios at the Alternative Space, 195-212 College Street (Saturday and Sunday) and at 300 George St. (Saturday only) in New Haven. Our artists have turned an empty building into a fantastic, wild gallery space for performances and site-specific art. A not-to-be-missed end to a really fantastic month.
