Hammered & Nailed: An Open Call to Creativity was started by Hartford Art School alumni, Joe Bun Keo and Ashleigh Kay in 2011.

The event's mission is to give the creative community of the Greater Hartford area an opportunity to showcase its untapped artistic energy.

The event, with the help of generous sponsors, is totally free. It costs nothing to participate and it costs nothing to attend the event's reception.  All we ask is a non-perishable, preferably vegan or vegetarian, food donation at the door the evening of the reception.

Hammered & Nailed's goal is to provide opportunity to local artists with an emphasis on emerging artists and make the enjoyment of art accessible to the masses.   We want everyone to be involved; all backgrounds of training and exhibiting are welcomed.

Art is a powerful means of communication. With Hammered & Nailed we want to let everyone know that there is a place where you are encouraged to express your creativity, and express it FOR FREE!
