Creative Arts Workshop, New Haven:

Opening Reception This Friday!

Chad Erpelding & Megan Moore: Prizewinners of Boundless
April 1 - 22, 2013

Opening Reception
Friday, April 5, 5 to 7 pm

Please join us this Friday from 5 to 7 pm for the opening reception for Chad Erpelding & Megan Moore: Prizewinners of the 2012 National Exhibition Boundless: New Works in Contemporary Printmaking, with Juror Anne Coffin.

Chad Erpelding: Sister Cities
Chad Erpelding's work investigates the physical and mental spread of culture on a global scale through references to maps and charts. He is interested in the movement of people, business, and organizations, and the effect this has on contemporary perceptions of place. He emphasizes globalization's role in producing greater connectivity between increasingly complex environments through political systems, individual travel, and international business organizations.

Megan Moore
Megan Moore's work is an investigation of the effect of restructuring a collection that occurs through the process of collage. Her collages contain representational elements of plants found in the 'natural world,' that through a process of sampling, deconstruction and reconstruction, come together to form something new.

April 2013

Spring is the season of fresh beginnings. The new artworks in The Aldrich's galleries, like the flowers blooming around town, present new forms to pique our curiosity, and the Museum's current calendar offers a bouquet of programs that provide access to and interpretation of the exhibitions on view. The Extreme Drawing projects feature a variety of works which explore this universal means of mark making. The Extreme Draw On! community festival is in full swing, offering an exciting line-up for visitors of all ages. Plan your visit today!
