Meet the Artist Reception from 5-8PM and runs through July 13. It will feature large & colorful indoor and outdoor garden-themed art. Seventeen artists are featured, working in a range of media including wood sculpture, watercolor, acrylics, photography, woodworking, repurposed glassware, and found object metal sculpture. 

Participating artists are Marcia Anderson,Marguerite Bride, Thomas Campbell, Roz Grossman, Bill Herzfeld, Sharon Way-Howard, Harriet Hurlburt, Susan Scott KenneySusan Rosenstone Larrow, Sally Tiska Rice,Robert Scutt, Gaal Shepherd, Monique Sourhino, William Stallman, Scott Taylor, Catherine Willey and Agata Wisniowska. This performance event features a collection of five short plays exploring the human side of work life in Connecticut today. The performances are funded by Connecticut Humanities as part of our CT at Work initiative. This event is free for members of SEIU 1199 New England, with a suggested donation of $10 for all others. Groove on over and boogie on down, we've got the hippest party in town!

Join us Thursday, June 5 from 5 - 9pm for THURSDAY NIGHT FEVER! We're taking First Thursday into the street for the biggest party ever, so shake that groove thang over here and:
  • Be among the first to see MATRIX 169 / Ruben Ochoa & meet the artist at 6pm 
  • Chill out to live music by Kerri Powers and Dyn-o-Myte Disco Review
  • Strut your stuff on the runway to win prizes in a 70s fashion show
  • Do the Hustle (if you don't know how, we'll have lessons!)
  • Make a disco ball to add pizzazz to your bedroom, kitchen, cubicle or car
  • Stay for a screening of American Hustle at 8pm
As ever, admission to First Thursday is $5, and free for museum members.
 
From 5 - 8pm the Yelp VIP Lounge will feature music by DJ Connie Carmona, a 70s-themed photo booth, a pop-up shop by Vintage Chic by Design, and tastings by Ted's Montana Grill and Relic Brewing! Limited VIP tickets ($10 cash) available so get here early!
