Interplay: An Installation by Shelby Head
Opening Reception: Friday, August 1, 5 to 7 pm

Join us this Friday, August 1, for the opening of our 2014 August Installation! This year's installation is Interplay, by Shelby Head. Music, particularly bebop style jazz, serves as the inspiration for Interplay, a site-specific art installation that explores arrangement and improvisation in both music and visual art. The artist curates and displays her work in a way that expresses the unique relationship between the project and the space it occupies.

Can't make the opening? Never fear -- the installation is viewable 24 hours a day from outside our Hilles Gallery, through August 29.

"The Fifth of July" - acrylic 13x24

August is here, and it's time for the Courtyard Gallery to showcase the latest work of Del-Bourree Bach along with other gallery favorites in a brand new show "Surf and Turf - New Paintings of Land and Sea"
Join us on Saturday August 2nd from 6-9PM for an opening celebration with Del and other artists and our own Maestro Mark Taber on the baby grand.

Del's almost tactile acrylic paintings have been described as contemporary realism in a clear precise style with a vision that brings you right into the painting. We'll be grouping his new work with other paintings and sculpture throughout the gallery through September 13th.

You can preview the show on Friday August 1st from 5-8PM and also stroll through all of the Downtown Mystic Galleries during Mystic Art in the Evening and don't forget our weekly Sunday Salons from 3-6 PM.

"a river runs through it"...

Art work created by artists from both sides of the river will be on display for the entire month of August at the Old Bank, 66 Main Street, East Hampton. The artists include members of Art Guild of Middletown, Brownstone Arts and independent artists from Marlborough.
.

Join us for "All Arts Night",the opening reception, which will be held Friday, August 1st. Artists, their friends and family and the public can meet and enjoy wine and refreshments. This is a wonderful opportunity to buy art for birthdays, anniversaries or other special occasions.
The Art Work will be displayed at The Old Bank from
 Aug 1 2014 to Aug 30 2014.

Acrylic Media & Techniques
August 23 & 24, 2014
Saturday & Sunday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
One hour break in the middle; please bring your lunch.

Debi Pendell's Studio
Eclipse Mill Artist Lofts, #205
North Adams MA 01247

Several acrylic gels and mediums will be introduced along with a number of ways to use them to create a wide variety of effects. These processes can be used to create unique collage papers and/or may be used directly on a canvas or board as a means to develop a painting or mixed media work. Some of the processes employ ordinary items like wax, pencil, salt and plastic wrap. Other processes are done purely with acrylic gels, mediums, and paints. Our exploration will include light molding paste, clear tar resin, glass bead gel, high solid gel, acrylic paint, and an acrylic gel mixture that I developed to be used as collage glue and/or added to paint. You will leave this workshop with an increased knowledge of acrylic gels, mediums, and paints (including some we won't use, but I will tell you about), a good number of processes to experiment with further (alone and in combination), and approximately 30 unique papers for use in collage or as the beginning layer of a painting or mixed media work.

Tuition: $250.
There will be an extra materials fee. Small containers of acrylic gels & mediums are very expensive. Rather than have each person buy their own, it's more economical for you if I buy large containers and divide them between all the participants. I will keep this cost as low as possible. To Register:
Email: debipendell@msn.com or Call: 413-346-3362

Once you have let me know you would like to attend this workshop, send a check for $250. to:
Debi Pendell
243 Union St Apt 205
North Adams MA 01247

A general materials list will be send to you upon registration, so be sure that I have your email address.
Thank you!
