paintings by Katy Schneider, our spring semester Prescott Visiting Artist.
Katy is a lecturer at Smith College where she has been teaching since 1990. Additional teaching includes Hampshire College, Indiana University at Bloomington, Boston University, and Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. She has had one-person exhibitions at many galleries including Tatistcheff, NYC, Pepper Gallery, Boston, Hidell Brooks Gallery, Charlotte, North Carolina; Washington Art Association, Washington Depot, CT; A.P.E. Gallery, Northampton MA; and the Nolan Art Gallery, Smith College. Group shows include the National Academy of Design; the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA; Hirshl and Adler Galleries in NYC; American Academy of Arts and Letters; Bowery Gallery; and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum.

"My exhibit at the New Canaan Library opens next Thursday February 12th from 6-8. I will be showing woven and dipped pieces, pulp painting, and collaged Japanese handmade paper. The Library website has images of pieces in the show and information about my demo on Saturday February 21st at 1:00pm. The address is 151 Main Street, New Canaan, Ct. 203-594-5003.
