Missing Data"
 Saturday, March 21, 6:00 8:00 P.M.

March 21   April 18
Landa will show a body of work that has been entirely created during his time living in New London. It has been a totally  interesting experience for him to be able to perceive how winter could interfere in our perception of reality and our every day life. It's his first time facing lower temperatures, blizzards and perceiving time in a particular way. Additionally he is working in New London’s Arts Magnet Schools with first graders as part of Expressiones  partnership with New London School’s Arts Pathway. This is an amazing experience, collaboration and cultural exchange for the children, teachers and artists. Luis has been  also working with our New London children at The Drop in Learning Center. Luis Landa lives and works in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. An economist, Luis worked in a large national bank in Tegucigalpa. As a self-taught artist his approach to art is through painting and  a range of pictorial and graphics such as etching, collage and screen printing techniques.  However, the process of discovery and research has led him to expand experimentation to include sculpture and audiovisual languages. Among the most recent activities he have participated in was "RAPTORS," an artist-in-residence program in Diriamba, Nicaragua in December 2014.

Joyce Kozloff: Maps + Patterns

This exhibition of new mixed media work synthesizes Kozloff’s interest in the meaning of maps with the forms of the Pattern and Decoration painting she pioneered in the 1970s. Spurred by recent travel along the silk route, Kozloff has returned for the first time to the Islamic star patterns that structured her early art.
