The Collectors

Saihou Saidy and Deborah Viets Saidy have been passionate collectors of African Art for over 30 years.  They both had successful careers in international service, relocating many times over three decades. Their children, now grown, each attended schools in at least five different countries before going on to colleges in the United States. Growing up overseas, their son and daughters visited many galleries and art studios, often expressing their views on which paintings or sculptures they liked most. The first pieces in the Saidy collection were from Ethiopia, where they lived from1982 to1984 and from 1986 to 1990.
