GOLDEN THREAD GALLERY EXHIBITION
“LIGHT”
Exhibition dates: November 16, 2013 to January 4, 2014
The Golden Thread Gallery is pleased to present its latest exhibition “Light” with an artist reception from 7:00 to 8:30 on Saturday, November 16. This event is free and the public is cordially invited to attend. “Light” is the second theme in our series exploring the human condition through artistic interpretation.
“Light” is comprised of diverse works by a select group of professional and emerging artists who express the theme through their art, creating various perspectives on Light, while weaving together a comprehensive statement and a compelling viewing experience. By displaying a collection of perspectives on a common theme, the exhibit offers a unique cultural and educational experience, which creatively illustrates the diversity of the human condition.
On view are works from around the world representing many mediums; each piece includes an artist statement on how the work represents Light. The Golden Thread is a nonprofit art gallery with the mission of connecting the Human Spirit Through the Arts. The Golden Thread exhibits professional and emerging artists from diverse backgrounds and welcomes all cultures and religions. Our name, The Golden Thread, represents the invisible, underlying connection that weaves together the spirit of humanity – through the arts. The Gallery is located at 303 Tunxis Road, West Hartford, Connecticut. Gallery Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00 – 3:00; Thursday 12:00 to 6:00 and Saturday 11:00 to 3:00. Punchline explores the use of humor in abstraction through the work of 13 artists who employ playful processes or formal languages. The exhibition is less self-consciously concerned with relevance and criticality than with the presence of the whimsical.
