This group exhibition will feature the work of seven different national artists, Mary Black, Daphne Taylor, Robert Reynolds, Margot Nimiroski, Geoffrey Pagen, Bradford Johnson and TJ Volonis.

Each piece of work in this show emphasizes the perspective of each artist and highlights his or her point of view. From realist to abstract expressionist, these pieces are evidence of the flexibility and transformative nature of fine art. Whether it be through the use of encaustic, metal work, oil on canvas, ceramics, or even embroidered thread, each artist in this show will be exhibiting a selection of their work accentuating their desire to express themselves.

A Collection of Encaustic and Wearable Art by Jennifer Lou Flanagan
On Display:
November 27 - January 12
Opening Reception:
Friday December 6th, 6-8pm
 About the Exhibit:

"May you find, within my art, kinship in the unacquainted, and share with me something beautiful- and familiar- in an all too anonymous world"     -Jennifer Lou Flanagan

Jennifer Lou Flanagan's encaustics combine melted beeswax with pure pigment incorporated with ephemera, found objects, and vernacular photography to create a collection of paintings that appear personal and anonymous at the same time. Each piece is painterly, multi layered and mixed media. Jennifer's work is influenced deeply by her love of the daguerreotype; an obsolete photographic process dating back to 1837.

Practicing artists spend a good deal of time coming up with unrealized ideas, filling in applications for grants and awards and public works installations. Many of these end up being preserved in their own filing systems, to remain forever in storage. This is an exhibition of the best of these failed proposals, with each artist represented by a succinct project description, a model or sketch and the accompanying rejection letter.
