Hannah Libmans Paper World
Sale & Exhibit this weekend

If you're one of the many people who have admired the work of collage artist Hannah Libman over the years, now is your chance to own of her pieces.

Hannah, who has taught collage at the West Hartford Art League since the mid-80's, is moving to Israel this summer with her husband, to be closer to her large extended family .

The West Hartford Art League will be holding an exhibit & sale of her work starting Friday, April 25 and continuing on Saturday and Sunday, in the Clubhouse classroom. Hannah will have a variety of work for sale starting at $100 for unframed pieces. She will also have about 35 framed pieces for sale.

Hannahs technique has been called "sculpting with paper" as her technique involves working with layers and layers of paper, that she first paints with a variety of mediums, then tears by hand and applies meticulously to form her image. Her work portrays landscapes, trees, and a slice of life from places she has visited on travels with her husband Berry. She is inspired by the wealth of possibilities that can be achieved with texture, form and shape and an endless supply of diverse material.

Hannah has exhibited her work widely in CT and MA and is represented in private and corporate collections in the United States and abroad.

"Hannah's Paper World" will be in the Clubhouse classroom at 37 Buena Vista Road and will open with a reception Friday, April 25th, from 5-8 p.m

The sale will continue Saturday and Sunday, the 26th & 27th from 10-5 p.m

Join me on Saturday, April 26th from 3:00-5:00 pm as I prepare to wrap up the year for Vitamin A - Art 2013 at the Dirt Salon. The exhibition of 365 smallworks, Vitamin A - Art 2013, will close on May 3rd. These are the final days of the exhibition, the last time one will be able to view the complete year with all 365 original pieces. Gallery hours are Saturdays, form 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

'Feeling a deep need to explore and be free to interpret my subjects in a variety of ways, I decided to embark on a new adventure, a new ‘mini’ series, I called Vitamin A (Art) 2013.
On January 1st, 2013  I began creating small works on paper, each only 4 x 4 inches. To date the group includes sketches, ink drawings, color studies, and small paintings. Vitamin A has allowed me to explore many different ideas and techniques and subjects, in a wide variety of styles, perspectives and approaches. For me, the only caveat has been that I must do at least one piece a day, each day, for 365 consecutive days this year.
My Vitamin As have become a visual journal, not only a calendar  of days, but a road map of where I’ve been, what I’ve seen, and, maybe most importantly, what has captured my imagination; an unexpected bonus to the discipline’s original intention.' ~ Suzan Scott

Come experience the 'year at a glance' and take a piece of 2013 home with you. All smallworks are available for sale. Pricing begins at $50.

Open Saturdays through May 3rd and by appointment. Call or email the artist for more information. Cell: 203-260-7052 Email: suzanscott@live.com
