Open Studio Hartford and more!

Open Studio Hartford is a free, city-wide event, where art studios, galleries, educational institutions, art-related businesses and other creative group locations open to the public. It's a collaboration designed to promote local artists and to bring people into various Hartford neighborhoods for an enjoyable, educational and inspiring event.

UPcycled Sampler Sneak Peek!

Date: Saturday and Sunday, November 15-16, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Location: ArtWalk, Downtown Library

As a part of the 25th Annual Open Studio Hartford Weeked, visit the ArtWalk at the Downtown Library for a special sneak peek “Make & Take,” where you will assist local artist Anita Balkun in completing a large hanging art installation designed especially for her exhibit, UPcycled Sampler, on display in the ArtWalk gallery December 5 - January 9. Visitors to this weekend’s event will work with recycled materials, add to the sculpture, and take home a souvenir!

Panel Discussion and Sacred Harp Concert
Thursday, November 13th, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m

In conjunction with the exhibition Between The Lines: Works by Carole P. Kunstadt
October 23rd to December 28th, 2014.
This Thursday we are hosting a wonderful evening. Please join us for a panel discussion and concert. We begin the panel discussion at 6:30 pm. The concert will begin at 7:45 pm.

The panel includes the artist, Carole P. Kunstadt; Sacred Harp singer Ellen Lueck; Yale University music Professor Ian Quinn, Ph.D.; and St. Patrick - St. Anthony Director of Music Ministry and musician Gabriel Löfvall. The concert will combine the choirs of St. Patrick - St. Anthony Church with Sacred Harp musicians and audience members.

The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

3 Brooklyn artists show paintings, drawings in Glastonbury

Collaborative art show ahead of winter holidays welcomes public with drinks, refreshments, and music.

Landscapes, neighborhoods and home are the themes of an upcoming art show in Glastonbury featuring three emerging artists and called "From Life." The Nov. 15 show of paintings and drawings by Ryan Gallagher, Benjamin Lankton, and Edward Whelan offers an intimate look into the artists’ creative process and experience of life in New York City and beyond.

The public is invited to view the works by the three Brooklyn artists, and enjoy refreshments and music, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov 15, at Goldberg Design 196 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT.

  William Baczek Fine Arts, in Northampton, MA is pleased to announce the opening of two new solo exhibitions. Anne Lilly will be showing a collection of stainless steel kinetic sculptures and Carrie Seid will be exhibiting new abstract works constructed from aluminum, mylar, acrylic and silk. The exhibitions will run concurrently, and will be on display from Wednesday, November 12 through Saturday, December 13, 2014.  There is an opening reception on Saturday evening, November 15 from 5 to 7 p.m.
