Finding Urpflanze, an exhibition of drawings made in collaborations between Fritz Horstman, Martha Lewis, and Solange Roberdeau, consists of two bodies of work: Horstman and Roberedeau’s To Find and Horstman, Lewis and Roberdeau’s Urpflanze Drawings.  All of the work revolves around the artists’ interest in their local plant life.  In each drawing the morphology of plants plays as important a part as the artist’s hand. 







































65th Annual Art of the Northeast - Opening Reception

Begun in 1949 as the "New England Exhibition," the competition was founded by Silvermine Guild Members Miriam Brody and Revington Arthur to showcase the art of the region. Over the years, the exhibit has presented works by emerging and mid-career artists, giving them a platform to reach a much larger audience than ever before. The winner receives a top prize of $3,000 and a solo exhibition at Silvermine Arts Center.

Join us for a 2+ mile "Art and Nature Walk." Spend an afternoon exploring
I-Park's 26 trails and experiencing the exceptional natural beauty that they reveal.
You'll also have the opportunity to get up close to several examples of
"environmental art," site-specific installations that have been created over
the years in conjunction with I-Park's international artists-in-residence program.

As part of your visit, you are also invited to meet I-Park's current artists-in-residence.
They will be in their studios from 2 until 3:30pm so you can see what
they've been working on during their stay with us. There will also be a
select number of artists' presentations from 3:30 until 4pm, followed by a
trail walk, led by our Founder, to one or more new site installations.
Of course, you are free to explore the trails on your own at any point between 2 and 6pm.

The Real People 2015 Call for Artists is now open.

Real People is a national juried fine art exhibition celebrating the arts through faces and figures. Real People is open to all artists and media; submitted work must depict the human form or face in some manner. The show is held each year at the Old Court House Arts Center in Woodstock, Illinois, located outside of Chicago, Illinois.
The exhibit will run during the months of August and September and include a gala Artists' Reception (see important dates below for exact dates). APPLYING: To apply for the show, please visit www.CallForEntry.org, and click on 'View All Shows' from the main page; the show is listed there and artists can view more information and apply to the show.

AWARDS: Cash prizes totaling more than a $1,000.00 will be awarded for First, Second, Third Place; and others.

SUBMITTING TO THE SHOW: Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for jurying. All artwork must be original. Each piece should be represented by ONLY one image. Each image is evaluated by the jurors as a separate piece of art. If you would like to submit a detailed shot or shots from multiple angles, please create a single composite image composed of the various angles or detailed shots.  Artwork that is made up of multiple pieces (i.e. diptychs, triptychs etc.) should be represented by only one picture. Up to two pieces may be chosen for the show.

JURYING FEE: $30.00 for one image; $35 for two; $40 for three images. Payment can be made through CAFE, or by check (please make check out to 'NAAC' and mail to Old Court House Arts Center, ATTN: Real People. 101 N. Johnson St, Woodstock, IL 60098). Discounts are available for current naac Members ($10), and for artists who previously applied to Women's Works 2015 ($10). (Multiple discounts are not allowed.) Please contact us at RealPeople2015@naac4art.org if you are eligible for a discount and we will send you the appropriate code. There is no additional Entry Fee upon Acceptance.

ENTRY DEADLINE & JURY DATES: Final entry deadline is Sunday, June 30, 11:59pm CST. Jury Notifications will be emailed to artists by July 11th using the CAFE system. Accepted artists will receive shipping and drop-off instructions soon after they are notified.

This exhibition is open to all interpretations of the concept, Strange Figurations. Included are all forms of unique and unusual art, from the realist to the surreal and visionary. All artist interpretations of the theme Strange Figurations, will be reviewed and considered.

Yale New Haven Hospital’s Auxiliary seeks Connecticut artists to exhibit their work in 2016 in the “The Art Corridor” at Saint Raphael campus. The exhibit changes monthly. Accepted media includes: painting, photography, drawing, collage, print, mixed media, pastel, framed textile, wall hung sculpture, and stained glass. Artists may submit via email 2-5 jpg images (72 dpi with a maximum of 900 pixels on the long side) of their work for committee selection. 

Artwork Requirements: All art must be prepared with wire to hang securely on the hospital’s picture hanging system. Pricing should not exceed $1,000 but higher priced works will be considered.

Sales will be managed by Yale New Haven Hospital’s Auxiliary. A commission of 25% will be retained by the YNHH to help fund Auxiliary programs, which support patients, families and the community. Examples are: Toy Closet (every child discharged from the hospital receives a toy of their choice); $500,000 to Smilow Cancer Hospital;  $1,000,000 for the Musculoskeletal Center and OB/ Neonatal Intensive Care Unit projects; free Health Education lectures by YNHH physicians.
