The
unfinished task of this exhibition is a reflection upon Abstract
Painting; more to the point, it, focuses attention upon work by Women
Artists whose contributions to the school
of abstraction remains largely underappreciated and under-presented.
The artists represented in Unfinished Task, like their predecessors, are
intensely engaged individuals who defy categorizing; their painting
ranges the gamut from meticulously thoughtful
to gutsy exuberance. They are standard bearers in a struggle whose
endgame as of yet remains somewhere in the distant future.

Two Roads is bringing back our
“ConnArtists” art contest — We’re reaching out to drinking-age artists
from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey,
Vermont and Pennsylvania to help us celebrate our roots by creating a
work of art depicting the scenes, people and places of Connecticut’s
history, past and present.
The winner's art will be
reproduced and displayed on a 30-foot high fermenter inside the brewery
and they will receive $1,000 and a party at the brewery in their honor —
where their gigantic art will be unveiled and toasted! Five runners-up
will have their art featured at our party and receive a $250 check.
