ARTAROUND TO MIX NEW AND VETERAN ARTISTS
The 2015 ArtAround the West End event will include a number of new artists
as well as several former participants. According to Cathy Bates, event
organizer for the ArtAround, “We’re really excited. We have some exciting new
artists as well as some of our best artists returning.”
Bates noted that this
year’s open studio event has extended its reach to include artists who live,
work, worship, or study in the West
End. “We have large communities of students in the law school and seminary.
Many of them are creative; we wanted to open the event to them as well,” she
asserted. “We’re seeing some great work from these new artists.
The event will take
place the last weekend in September, with the opening exhibition and reception
scheduled for Friday, September 25th, to be followed by two days of
open studio exhibits on the 26th and 27th. 2015 will be the fourth year for the event.
