Eric Harley Schweitzer
The Behnke Doherty Gallery is pleased to announce its next exhibition, Driven to Abstraction, featuring the paintings of Eric Schweitzer. Also featured will be tribal art from West and Central Africa. The exhibition runs from August 9th through September 23rd. There is an artist’s reception on Saturday August 11th from 4 to 7 pm.
“Pure composition” is what Eric Harley Schweitzer sets out to achieve in his paintings. While biomorphic forms emerge from many of his compositions, they are often the result of subconscious impulse on the part of the artist rather than deliberate intent. Schweitzer’s works are first and foremost about color, form and harmonious composition.
